BFA in Theatre (Acting and Performance) (Honours)
York University — Toronto, Ontario
About this program
York University's Theatre — Acting & Performance BFA is a specialized, intensive four-year program in acting, devising, movement, voice, and specialist skills like Performance Capture and Clown. Upper-year students are cast in Theatre@York mainstage shows featuring Canadian and international, classic and contemporary plays, or create their own work by writing, directing, designing, and performing for the annual Devised Theatre Festival. Students complete 54 studio credits (Focused Acting & Performance) or 33 studio credits (Flexible Performance Creation) within the Department. The first year is a Foundation Year common to all Theatre students. Students selected for direct entry complete the Foundation Year, then move into Acting & Performance in second year. Those not selected for direct entry can still enter as BA or BFA Performance Creation students and apply via 'Next Steps' at the end of first year.
