BFA in Musical Theatre
Oakland University — Rochester Hills, MI
About this program
Oakland University is a public research university in Rochester, Michigan, home to the nationally respected School of Music, Theatre and Dance (SMTD). The BFA in Musical Theatre is recognized by talent agents and casting directors as one of the best musical theatre programs in the Midwest — graduates are routinely cast in national tours, regional theatre, film and television, and on Broadway. OU is one of only three Michigan universities with NAST accreditation for its theatre programs. The program's standout distinction is Meadow Brook Theatre on campus — Michigan's largest Actors' Equity company — giving OU musical theatre students direct exposure to professional Equity productions and industry professionals unavailable at most comparable programs. OU is also the only Michigan institution with a Designated Linklater Voice Teacher (DLV).
