BFA in Dance
Oakland University — Rochester Hills, MI
About this program
Oakland University is a public research university in Rochester, Michigan, home to the NASD-accredited Department of Dance within the School of Music, Theatre and Dance. The BFA in Dance is the pre-professional degree for students who wish to focus intensively on performance and choreography in a contemporary aesthetic informed by classical modern dance principles. OU's unique residency partnerships with Eisenhower Dance Detroit and Take Root give BFA Dance students direct access to professional mentorship, company observation, and — for senior students — the possibility of paid apprenticeships and internships that frequently lead to full company membership. The recently renovated Varner Hall provides state-of-the-art studio facilities.
