About this program
The BM in Composition at CCPA trains students to write music for a range of ensembles, styles, and contexts in preparation for professional careers and graduate study. The program combines intensive composition study with conservatory-level theory, musicianship, and ensemble participation. Faculty are active composers with international profiles whose work has been performed by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Lyric Opera, and leading new music ensembles. Students collaborate extensively with CCPA performers across all departments.
