BM in Jazz and Contemporary Music
Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University — Chicago, IL
About this program
The BM in Jazz and Contemporary Music at CCPA develops versatile jazz and contemporary performers, composers, and arrangers. Housed within the Interdisciplinary Conservatory, the program leverages CCPA's Chicago location — one of the world's great jazz cities — with access to the Jazz Showcase, Chicago Jazz Festival, Millennium Park, and an extraordinary network of professional jazz faculty from the Chicago community. Students develop through applied lessons, jazz theory, jazz history, ear training, arranging, and ensemble participation. The program emphasizes entrepreneurial skills and portfolio career development. A fourth-semester review determines readiness for upper-division study.
