BS in Music Industry
Rowan University — Glassboro, NJ
About this program
The Bachelor of Science in Music Industry at Rowan University provides students with the knowledge and professional experience to launch careers in the music business or recording industry. Students choose between two concentrations: Music Technology (hands-on production in the recording studio) or Music Business (management and marketing as practiced in the music industry). Both concentrations incorporate 12 credits from the Rohrer College of Business. Students can also declare a Minor in Entrepreneurship or other business minors. Both concentrations share the same first-year courses so students graduate with broad industry knowledge. The program includes two summer internships in its course sequence and operates a student-run record label. The curriculum concludes with a capstone project — which might involve producing and promoting an album, scoring a film, launching a business, or other entrepreneurial ventures. An essay and portfolio/links to work are required for admission.
