About this program
The BA in Theatre Arts at Rowan University's College of the Arts provides rigorous, inclusive training through three concentrations: Acting, Musical Theatre, and Design and Technology, as well as a Pre-Teaching option. The Acting Concentration provides training based on the late-Stanislavsky method of Physical Actions, including Fitzmaurice and Roy Hart vocal techniques, Viewpoints, and dance-theater. The Musical Theatre Concentration trains physically-aware singing actors with acting training, private vocal lessons every semester, intensive dance training, lyrical examination, and twice-yearly vocal juries. The Design and Technology Concentration develops skills in drawing, rendering, design techniques, and technical production. The Pre-Teaching option prepares students for certification to teach theatre in New Jersey. More than 75 public performances annually. Strong connections to the New Jersey theatre community. The New Brunswick Performing Arts Center opened in 2019 as a cultural partner. Dance minors are also available for Theatre Arts students.
