BAMusicGlassboro, NJ

About this program

The Bachelor of Arts in Music at Rowan University's College of the Arts is designed for students who want to pursue musical studies within a liberal arts context, without the professional performance or teaching concentration required of the BM. Students may use the BA to broadly explore music alongside another program, prepare for graduate study in areas such as musicology, music theory, or arts administration, or pair music with pre-medical or pre-health coursework. Curriculum includes music theory, music history, and ethnomusicology as well as applied performance and ensemble experiences. Through electives, BA students can pursue music technology, music business, composition, and jazz studies. Rowan University is NASM-accredited. The College of the Arts is home to the Department of Music and the Department of Theatre and Dance, and the College presents more than 75 public performances annually including the world-renowned Marie Rader performing arts series.
