BM in Music Theatre
Oberlin Conservatory of Music — Oberlin, OH
About this program
Oberlin Conservatory's BM in Music Theater is a recently launched program. The Conservatory East Studios — with dedicated dance studios and the William and Helen Birenbaum Innovation and Performance Space — were built specifically for the program. Students receive a minimum of six semesters of acting, six semesters of music theater workshop, five days of dance per week, and a weekly one-hour private voice lesson, all within a conservatory environment alongside classical musicians. Oberlin Music Theater partners with Great Lakes Theater, Idaho Shakespeare Festival, and Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival, and co-produces an annual musical with Beck Center for the Arts, enabling students to fulfill Actors Equity Association requirements before graduation.
