Oberlin Conservatory's BM in Jazz Studies leads to a degree with a concentration in performance, composition, or both. The Oberlin Jazz Ensemble is a four-year curricular component, and jazz students perform alongside classical musicians throughout Oberlin's 500+ annual concerts — a cross-disciplinary immersion unavailable at dedicated jazz schools. Oberlin's program draws on interdisciplinary resources in African American music, improvisation, and experimental music alongside rigorous applied study.
