About this program
The Bachelor of Music in Performance at LSU's School of Music — a NASM-accredited program — develops skilled professional musicians across all instrumental and vocal areas in a research-intensive university environment with world-class facilities. Areas of study include Voice, Piano, Piano Pedagogy, Strings (violin, viola, cello, double bass, harp), Brass (horn, trombone, trumpet, tuba/euphonium), Woodwinds (bassoon, clarinet, flute, oboe, saxophone), Percussion, Guitar, and Jazz (saxophone, trumpet, trombone, piano, guitar, bass, drum set). Students perform in large and chamber ensembles, receive private instruction from internationally active faculty, and participate in masterclasses with visiting artists. The LSU Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Opera Theatre, and multiple choral and jazz ensembles provide extensive performance experience. Facilities include Lynn Auditorium and dedicated rehearsal, studio, and recording spaces.
