About this program
The BM in Experimental Music and Digital Media (EMDM) at LSU's School of Music focuses on computer music technology, aesthetics, composition, programming and engineering in a musical context, and performance with technology. The program trains musician-technologists who work across digital media, electronic composition, instrument design, and interdisciplinary creative practice. Unlike other BM programs, EMDM applicants submit a portfolio rather than performing a traditional instrument audition (though applicants who intend to additionally pursue an instrument should also set up an instrument audition). LSU encourages prospective EMDM students to attend an official audition day to meet faculty.
