About this program
The Bachelor of Arts in Music at LSU's School of Music offers a NASM-accredited music education within the broader context of LSU's liberal arts curriculum. The degree is designed for students who wish to combine music study with other academic pursuits or who plan to pursue graduate study in music, music history, music theory, or music education. Students receive private applied instruction, participate in ensembles, and complete coursework in music theory, history, and ear training. The BA in Music audition (required) is the same process as the BM, though minor-level requirements apply for some areas. Music minors also follow a simplified audition process (recorded audition OR in-person audition the week before classes).
