BFA in Theatre Design and Production
Shenandoah University — Winchester, VA
About this program
Shenandoah University's Shenandoah Conservatory is home to a nationally recognised theatre division offering BFA programmes in Acting and Theatre Design & Production. The theatre programmes are distinguished by intimate class sizes, professional mentorship, and a rich production season. The BFA in Acting teaches the Sanford Meisner Technique with one of the country's pre-eminent master teachers, supplemented by Uta Hagen, Stanislavsky, Chekhov, and other techniques from sophomore year onward, plus acting for camera. The BFA in Theatre Design & Production offers six emphasis areas: Scenic Design, Lighting Design, Costume Design, Stage Management, and Technical Production (with TDP certificates also available in each area). The conservatory produces a robust season of musicals, plays, and youth theatre on two stages — the Ohrstrom-Bryant Theatre (600-seat) and the theatre's black box.
