About this program
Nebraska Wesleyan's BFA in Theatre Design and Technology trains scenic, costume, lighting, sound, and projection designers as well as technical directors and stage managers. Design majors benefit from the active 30+ annual production schedule, working closely with faculty and staff as members of production teams. Coursework includes Introduction to Creative Technology, where students hold a semester membership to Nebraska Innovation Studio (NIS) in Lincoln — a makerspace with 3D printers, laser cutters, vinyl cutters, CNC routers, industrial sewing machines, long arm quilter, and full wood and metal shops. Students train in Adobe Illustrator and 3D modeling alongside studio design courses.
