BFA in Musical Theatre
Nebraska Wesleyan University — Lincoln, NE
About this program
Nebraska Wesleyan's BFA in Musical Theatre is a preprofessional triple-threat degree training students as singing actors who dance. Coursework progresses through the four-year Musical Theatre Voice Lessons and Studio sequence, Musical Theatre Dance I-II (ballet foundations plus audition-ready combinations), and the Acting I-II-III-IV sequence rooted in Stanislavski and built toward professional audition technique. Students train in a small-class environment that prioritizes performance; NWU produces 30+ shows per year, and BFA majors perform across the Elder Memorial Theatre Center's McDonald and Miller Theatres from freshman year forward. Capstone work and the Rock the Audition course prepare students for an industry senior showcase that introduces them to agents, casting directors, and managers.
