About this program
GVSU's BA in Music 'promotes the study of music within the context of a liberal education curriculum.' NASM-accredited. Personal audition required. PERFORMANCE HONORS OPTION: 'Students in the BA can audition for the Performance Honors program to enter the BM series of applied study (1-hour lessons). This is especially good for students with strong performance skills who are uncertain of career goals.' COMPOSITION AND JAZZ: While students interested in composition or jazz often elect the BA, BM students with abilities in these areas can develop them as secondary areas within the BM programme. Audition: at least one month in advance at gvsu.edu/music. Theory + keyboard placement exams on audition day.
