About this program
FSU's BFA in Dance is offered through the School of Dance at Montgomery Hall. It provides extensive training in contemporary dance and choreography. OUT-OF-STATE TUITION WAIVER: Available for non-Florida residents admitted to the BFA Dance program — a significant financial benefit. AUDITION PROCESS: Step 1: Complete FSU undergraduate application at admissions.fsu.edu. Select Dance as intended major. Step 2: Complete the Dance Supplemental Application (appears on Application Status Check portal after FSU application submission). In the Supplemental Application: select one of three in-person audition dates; provide basic information; upload resume (highlighting dance training and experience + career goals statement); upload photo (headshot or full-body). FULL-DAY AUDITION (8:00 AM-4:30 PM; on campus at Montgomery Hall, Tallahassee): Information session. Ballet class. Contemporary dance class. Improvisation class. Solo performance — each applicant performs a solo they have prepared and choreographed. Auditions are limited to a certain number of applicants per date — each date closes upon reaching maximum capacity. Apply early.
