BMA in Interdisciplinary Studies (Worship Studies)
Dallas Baptist University — Dallas, TX
About this program
DBU's BMA in Interdisciplinary Studies (Worship Studies) equips the modern church musician with the skills and competencies needed for effective ministry service in the local church. Led by Dean Dr. Wes C. Moore (Dean, College of Fine Arts; Assistant Professor of Voice; former Chair, Department of Music; D.M.A., University of North Texas), the degree provides a strong music core — theory, aural skills, history, applied lessons, ensembles — alongside required coursework in Christian Ministry: Christian studies, theology, and/or communication technology. The programme prepares graduates to pursue the Master of Music degree at seminary or graduate school, and to serve as worship leaders, church music directors, cantors, and ministry musicians in congregations of all styles. Elective options are wide open, enabling students to tailor the degree to their individual ministry vision.
