About this program
CSU's BM in Music Education, Instrumental Concentration provides skilled musicians the opportunity to develop expertise as classroom teachers and ensemble directors in K-12 instrumental music programs. Students complete applied lessons on their primary instrument, participate in the Wind Ensemble or Orchestra (corresponding to their major instrument), and complete rigorous music education coursework through both the Schwob School and the CSU College of Education. Field experiences provide real-world teaching experiences in Georgia schools from the early years onward, culminating in a student teaching semester. The BM Music Education program is held to the same high performance standards as the BM Performance program. All educator preparation programs are approved by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission. **100% graduate placement rate** for Music Education graduates.
