About this program
CCU's BA in Theatre is an open-enrollment liberal arts degree designed for students who seek theatre study within a broader academic context, or who plan to double major. No audition is required. The BA prepares students to use theatre in careers that impact community, to pursue graduate study, or to apply theatre skills to any chosen career. The program provides well-rounded training encompassing scholarly, creative, and applied theatre opportunities. BA students work in all production positions — Stage Manager, Assistant Director, Designer, Actor, and dozens of other roles — alongside BFA students. Production opportunities are available beginning in the first semester. Students may also pursue community engagement and outreach through coursework. A junior/senior capstone-style project can be developed in an area of concentration. The program is the ideal option for students who want theatre as a component of a double major or for students who want flexibility beyond the focused BFA curriculum.
