About this program
NDSU's BFA in Theatre Arts is a professionally oriented degree that can be entered only by audition. The Musical Theatre emphasis provides in-depth study alongside Performance and Design/Technology concentrations within the same BFA. Coursework includes Acting the Song, Musical Theatre Audition, Voice and Movement for the Actor, Dance Styles for Theatre, and dedicated MT ensemble. Minimum grade of C required in all THEA and MUSC prefix courses; minimum grade of B required in music, dance, and performance courses. Students train across Askanase Auditorium, the Studio Theatre, and Festival Concert Hall in the Reineke Fine Arts Center (which is receiving a 9,700 sq. ft. expansion with rehearsal space, practice rooms, and a recording facility).
