About this program
Newberry College's Bachelor of Arts in Music is for students who have a high interest in music, want to learn more theoretical and historical aspects, and want to continue and improve in performance. The BA offers the possibility of minoring or double majoring in another field and wide elective space. The program promotes lifelong advocacy and enjoyment of the art rather than necessarily a music vocation. A Music Theory emphasis is available; students on that emphasis may write a thesis paper in place of the senior recital requirement. Students in the BA in Music devote nearly half of their coursework to specialized instruction in music and performance, and present one solo recital in their senior year.
