BM in Vocal Performance: Music Theatre
New York University — New York, NY
About this program
Steinhardt's BM in Vocal Performance: Music Theatre integrates voice, acting, and dance within the Department of Music and Performing Arts Professions. Core courses include private voice study, acting, dance, music theatre repertoire, music theatre history, and musical theatre styles, alongside intensive performance-skills workshops covering movement, speech, diction, song study, scene study, audition skills, and business skills. Students can cross to classical voice training and participate in opera workshops and fully staged opera productions. Degree recitals are presented in Steinhardt's performance venues and recorded to provide archival professional-quality documentation. Students may also take electives in music technology, music business, and music education.
