BS in Dance Studies
Nazareth University — Rochester, NY
About this program
Nazareth's BS in Dance Studies prepares students for careers in performance, choreography, pedagogy, production/stage management, arts administration, therapy, history, criticism, theory and research, somatic therapies, or movement analysis — depending on interest and electives. Students train in small classes with personal attention, a global perspective in coursework (Dance and Culture, Afro-Caribbean Dance, Anthropology of Dance), and residencies with faculty and guest artists. The degree can be paired with a minor such as theatre arts, business, music, women and gender studies, or community youth development. A double major with Inclusive Early Childhood/Childhood Education supports teaching certification.
