About this program

Indiana University Bloomington's BFA in Dance — Ballet Track (formerly BS in Ballet, now part of the new Jacobs Dance) specialises in preparing classical ballet dancers for a professional career. 'We work within the Jacobs School of Music which means we have live music in every performance.' INTENSIVE PROGRAMME: Dancers on pointe upwards of 25 hours per week. Pointe shoes worn daily in technique class, pointe classes, partnering, variations class, and most rehearsals. PROFESSIONAL PLACEMENT: 90% overall professional placement rate; 75% of a recent graduating class secured paid professional positions (companies including Louisville Ballet, Indianapolis Ballet, Sarasota Ballet, Ballet Austin, Kansas City Ballet, Nevada Ballet Theatre, Grand Rapids Ballet, Cleveland Ballet, and others). Ensemble: approximately 65 dancers total.
