About this program
Emerson College is located in Boston's Theatre District, opposite the historic Boston Common. The BFA in Theatre and Performance accepts 12-24 students per year. 'Performing Arts faculty are active theatre professionals with deep connections to the performing arts community in Boston and beyond.' EMERSON STAGE: Student-led production company. Productions are produced in five professional-quality theatre spaces on campus: Cutler Majestic Theatre; Greene Theater; Semel Theater; Jackie Liebergott Black Box Theatre; Robert J. Orchard Stage in the Paramount Center. FACILITIES: Cutler Majestic Theatre (590-seat); Paramount Center (Robert J. Orchard Stage); Greene Theater (Tufte PPC); Semel Theater (Tufte PPC); Jackie Liebergott Black Box Theatre (Paramount Center). Five professional-quality theatre spaces total. AUDITION TYPES: Three types available (modality has no bearing on admission decision): In-person in Boston: 3.5-hour block with info session/Q&A + flexible volunteering system for audition order. In-person outside Boston: info session/Q&A then individually scheduled time slots. Virtual: via Acceptd AuditionRoom with info session/Q&A then individual time slots.
