About this program
Eastern University's Music programme offers a BA in Music and a BS in Music Education. Both degrees require an audition for admission. PRESSER FOUNDATION GRANT: Eastern University received a $100,000 grant from the Presser Foundation — a nationally prestigious music philanthropy organisation — to support music programming and student development. ARTIST IN RESIDENCE: Anthony Walker. NOTABLE ALUMNI CONNECTION: Steve Epting ('15) — toured internationally with Beyoncé, Kanye West, and Jay-Z after graduating from Eastern University's music programme. ENSEMBLES: Chamber Ensemble; Marching Band and Drumline; Pep Band; Jazz Band. Open to music majors and non-majors. BS MUSIC EDUCATION: Leads to Pennsylvania PK-12 music teaching certification. Combines full music curriculum with education coursework and student teaching. CHRISTIAN FAITH INTEGRATION: Music training is integrated with Christian liberal arts education and Eastern's faith commitments. Concert repertoire and curriculum reflect the programme's emphasis on music as spiritual and artistic practice.
