About this program

Four-year dynamic and intensive professional actor training program at the Fountain School of Performing Arts. Training is progressive in nature, culminating in four major productions. Training areas include: classical and contemporary acting, voice and speech, dance and movement, devised theatre creation, audition technique, and singing. Students may audition out of high school directly into the Acting Program, OR audition after completing THEA 1801/1802 (Intro to Acting and Performance) as a Dalhousie student. From first year onward, students must achieve a minimum B in all Acting Program classes and must be recommended by Acting Faculty to advance to the next year. Fourth year students complete the Honours Qualifying Project: a professional portfolio. Located in Halifax — a friendly city with an inclusive and diverse arts community and up to four productions per year in two performance spaces.
