About this program
Converse's BM in Music Education prepares musicians for South Carolina K-12 music teaching certification. Two tracks: Instrumental and General Music (Choral/Vocal). Administered jointly by School of Education and Petrie School. Must be admitted to Teacher Education Program separately (min. 2.75 GPA; Core Praxis passing score). Student teaching in Spartanburg area schools. Applied lessons, ensemble, theory, history, and education methods throughout. PRAXIS II Music: Content and Instruction required for graduation. NASM charter member.
