About this program
The Bachelor of Arts in Music and Worship Leadership at Charleston Southern University prepares students for ministry leadership in worship music through a curriculum that prioritizes theological faithfulness, musical excellence, and ministry experience. Students may concentrate in Piano, Voice, or Guitar. Graduates of this degree find jobs as worship leaders/pastors, music directors, and creative arts directors/pastors. The program also prepares students to continue education by studying church music or worship studies at the graduate level. Students perfect their craft, developing technique, tone, musicianship, repertoire, stage presence, pedagogy, and professionalism through extensive private study, ensemble participation, and worship leadership practicum. Students prepare two solo recitals and have opportunities to perform in the community at various venues and on regional, national, and international trips. Local churches are in desperate need of more men and women who are theologically and musically trained to faithfully facilitate weekly corporate worship — this is the core mission Cairn Southern’s Music and Worship Leadership program addresses.
