BA in Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies
Yale University — New Haven, CT
About this program
Yale University's Bachelor of Arts in Theater, Dance, and Performance Studies (TDPS) cultivates adventurous artists and scholars with a serious commitment to craft and extensive understanding of the contexts in which cultural productions emerge. The major integrates performance practice — acting, directing, playwriting, design, dramaturgy, dance, musical theater, and digital media performance — with performance history and theory. TDPS includes three integrated programs: the Dance Studies curriculum (practice, history, and theory of diverse dance forms), the Shen Curriculum for Musical Theater (history, analysis, theory, and practice of American Musical Theater), and the core Theater and Performance Studies offerings. The major provides solid humanities education as well as preparation for graduate study or careers in theater, dance, and the performing arts.
