University of Melbourne / Victorian College of the Arts — Melbourne, Victoria
About this program
The Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) and Melbourne Conservatorium of Music (MCM) are both part of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music (FFAM) at the University of Melbourne, located on the Southbank campus adjacent to the Melbourne Theatre Company, Arts Centre Melbourne, and Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. All VCA and MCM undergraduate programs are three years full-time with an optional fourth-year Honours degree. Applications open each August for the following year's intake. Domestic students apply through VTAC (vtac.edu.au); international students through the University of Melbourne international portal (study.unimelb.edu.au). The BMus (Performance) at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music provides advanced training for orchestral instruments, piano, guitar, and classical voice. One of Australia's oldest and most distinguished music schools — the first BMus was awarded in 1879. Applicants must demonstrate well-developed proficiency in their primary instrument or voice. Applications open each August.
