About this program
The Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy at Southwestern Oklahoma State University prepares students as music therapists in accordance with competency standards of the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA). Students complete instrumental or vocal/keyboard emphasis. Graduates are prepared for the MT-BC (Music Therapy-Board Certified) certification through the Certification Board for Music Therapists. SWOSU has a long tradition of producing graduates working in educational, medical, rehabilitative, mental health, long-term care, and hospice/palliative/bereavement settings. NASM-accredited.
