About this program
The BA Production Arts and Design at RCS is a three-year, full-time program training aspiring scenic artists, prop makers, stage carpenters, costume makers, set designers, and costume designers. Students choose a major and minor study from five areas: scenic art, prop making, stage carpentry, costume making, and set and costume design. RCS is the only institution in Scotland offering degree-level qualifications in technical theatre and production arts, and holds close relationships with the National Theatre of Scotland, Scottish Opera, Scottish Ballet, and regional theatres including the Citizens Theatre Glasgow, Pitlochry Festival Theatre, and Royal Lyceum Theatre Edinburgh.
