About this program

Rider University's Westminster College of the Arts (WCA) brings together two distinguished performing arts divisions: Westminster Choir College (WCC) — founded in 1926 and one of the most celebrated choral music training institutions in the world — and the School of Fine & Performing Arts (SFPA), based on the main Lawrenceville campus. The two divisions operate in close collaboration under the WCA umbrella, offering undergraduate degrees in music, musical theatre, acting, and dance. Westminster Choir College is located on a separate campus in Princeton, New Jersey, approximately 13 miles from the Lawrenceville main campus. WCC is known internationally for its Westminster Symphonic Choir — the ensemble that has recorded and performed with the New York Philharmonic, Philadelphia Orchestra, and other major orchestras — and for its rigorous vocal training within a conservatory environment. The BAM (Bachelor of Arts in Music) and BM in Voice Performance and BM in Music Education are WCC undergraduate degrees. The School of Fine & Performing Arts, based in Lawrenceville, offers BFA in Acting (for Film, Television and Theatre), BFA in Musical Theatre, BA in Theatre, BA in Dance, and BM in Musical Theatre — Musical Direction. Rider's location — less than 60 miles from New York City — facilitates direct professional industry access for all performing arts students. All WCA programs require an audition or interview for admission consideration. Most programs participate in National Unified Auditions (Chicago, New York, Los Angeles).
