About this program
Old Dominion University's Diehn School of Music in Norfolk, Virginia offers a Bachelor of Music in Performance designed to prepare students for the high level of musicianship and professionalism required across a wide range of musical genres. Located near major military installations, ODU enjoys a special relationship with military music programs in all branches of the service — creating unique career pathways for graduates. Vocal and instrumental areas include Brass, Guitar, Keyboard, Percussion, Strings, Voice, and Woodwinds. All applied music courses are taught by experienced professional faculty (18 full-time, 35 adjunct). Students complete performance juries each semester and two solo recitals as capstone experiences. The vibrant Norfolk/Hampton Roads arts community provides additional performance opportunities on and off campus.
