Oklahoma Baptist University is a private Christian liberal arts university in Shawnee, Oklahoma. The NASM-accredited Division of Music offers the BM in Vocal Performance as a performance-intensive degree for students considering careers as concert soloists, opera and musical theatre vocalists, recording artists, studio musicians, church musicians, or studio teachers. Students receive weekly studio classes, private lessons, master classes, and voice seminars. OBU graduates have performed at the Metropolitan Opera and opera houses around the world, and have been accepted to graduate programs at Eastman, Indiana, Florida State, Cincinnati, Peabody, Penn State, Baylor, the University of Memphis, and many others. OBU provides a minimum $12,000/year scholarship to all incoming freshmen.
