BA in Music (General Studies concentration)
North Park University — Chicago, IL
About this program
North Park's Bachelor of Arts in Music offers four concentrations: General Studies in Music, Composition, Jazz Studies (instrumental), and Performance. Students study their chosen instrument or voice alongside core courses in music theory and music history, with flexibility for a second major, minor, or elective concentrations. The General Studies concentration is designed for the broadest flexibility and prepares students for graduate programs or a variety of fields in music. Ensembles include four choirs, an orchestra, a concert band, a jazz ensemble, chamber groups, and an opera program. Ensembles perform on and off-campus, tour domestically and internationally, and participate in festivals and competitions. The opera program stages annual workshops and full productions or scenes. Ensembles are open to music majors and non-majors; most require auditions.
