About this program
NCCU's Bachelor of Music — Vocal Performance concentration focuses on overall musical preparation and development for vocalists, increasing technical and analytical ability to sing various genres through applied practice. Students admitted to the university are considered 'pre-music' until they pass an audition and a music theory assessment. The NCCU Department of Music is housed across the Edwards Music Building, B.N. Duke Auditorium and Annex, Lee Building, and Student Services Building Annex, with two recording studios, a concert hall, a computer lab, a computer lab, five large rehearsal spaces, numerous practice rooms, and 25 pianos (mostly Steinway).
