BFA in Theatre Studies (Performance emphasis)
Niagara University — Niagara University, NY
About this program
Niagara's BFA in Theatre Performance requires a minimum of 73 credit hours in theatre within the 120-credit degree. Students take classes in acting, voice, and dance/movement every semester and engage with specialized courses in commedia dell'arte, dialects, directing, physical theatre, speech, and stage combat. The program fuses a conservatory approach to theatre training with Niagara's liberal arts education. The NU Theatre department has a long production history. Required practicums each semester provide build, run, design, crew, or directing experience across multiple departmental productions. Auditions are required every semester as part of the curriculum; after the first three semesters, students may opt to audition with monologues only.
