BFA in Performance
Niagara University — Niagara University, NY
About this program
Niagara University's BFA Performance program is one of the oldest professional theatre training programs in the region, combining a conservatory approach to theatre training with a liberal arts education. Since 1964, the department has prepared students for careers ranging from Broadway to Hollywood through an intense, disciplined curriculum requiring 73 credit hours in theatre courses out of 120 total credits. Students engage in acting, voice, and dance/movement classes every semester, complemented by specialized courses in commedia dell arte, dialects, directing, physical theatre, stage combat, and theatre history. The program emphasizes experiential learning through eight student productions each season, providing an artistic playground for growth and development. Students benefit from personalized mentorship with theatre faculty and access to an alumni network of artists from Broadway, television, film, and radio.
