About this program
Kenyon College's BA in Drama integrates performance, direction, design, playwriting, and history within a rigorous liberal arts curriculum. NO AUDITION required for program admission — all courses are open to every student at the College. CURRICULUM: Elements of Theatre Art courses (acting, playwriting, design); play-based courses examining dramatic literature in theatrical context; production (directed public performance for academic credit); Senior Capstone. ALL STUDENTS are invited to audition for mainstage season roles. SENIOR CAPSTONE (3 parts): (1) Senior project — a major piece of creative or scholarly work (directing, acting, design, playwriting, or research); student initiates and collaborates with guidance from faculty; public presentation or performance. (2) Oral discussion of project with department faculty. (3) Six-hour written comprehensive examination. Distinction awarded for exceptional performance on all three components.
