About this program
Hendrix College's BA in Theatre Arts and Dance is a combined major offering comprehensive training in both theatre and dance. 'Participation in dramatic productions is open to all Hendrix students.' HENDRIX PLAYERS: Open to all Hendrix students regardless of major. Students 'perform in plays that cover a wide range of dramatic literature, build sets and costumes, and participate in other technical aspects of dramatic performance.' Performances in Cabe Theatre and Staples Auditorium. HENDRIX DANCE ENSEMBLE (auditioned; separate from programme admission): 'Auditions are held during the first week of the fall semester.' Ensemble meets Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4:30-6:00 PM. 'Work of the ensemble culminates in a faculty choreographed performance in the fall semester, a faculty and student choreographed Dance Ensemble Concert in the spring semester, and participation in the American College Dance Festival Association.' Accepts 1/4 course credit per semester. ODYSSEY PROGRAM: Playing a major role in a theatre production can fulfill Artistic Creativity credit toward the Odyssey Program.
