About this program
Hanover College's Theatre concentration provides comprehensive training in all aspects of theatrical art within Indiana's oldest private college. No audition required for programme admission. COURSES INCLUDE: Acting; Directing; Movement-based performance; Devised theatre; Physical theatre; Visual and puppet theatre; Lecoq-based pedagogy; Playwriting; Feminist theatre; Queer theatre; Performance theory; American theatre; Design/tech; Dramaturgy; Musical Theatre Styles (THR 425 — Advanced Acting: Musical Theatre Styles; focus on solo and duet musical performance; character development; musical theatre movement and dance; healthy vocal production). PROFESSIONS AND PATHWAYS (THR 305): Resume writing and portfolio building; interview and audition techniques; networking; preparation for graduate programmes. INTERNSHIP (THR 457): Entry-level off-campus experience with established commercial or LORT theatre. For senior majors. SENIOR THESIS (THR 471): Substantial, independently conceived artistic or scholarly project in: playwriting, acting, directing, dramaturgy, design, technology, theatre education, scholarship, arts administration, or other fields. PARKER AUDITORIUM: Reopened as the Hanover College Business and Entrepreneur Center — multipurpose venue.
