Gonzaga University — Spokane, WA
About this program
Gonzaga's BA in Musical Theatre 'offers academic experiences that synthesize the performing arts of music, dance, and theatre through a Jesuit lens.' This interdisciplinary programme uniquely integrates all three performing arts disciplines within Gonzaga's Jesuit liberal arts framework. Jesuit integration: cura personalis; social justice; leadership and service. Gonzaga is the only Jesuit university on the West Coast offering this combined Musical Theatre degree. OPERA THEATRE ENSEMBLE (MUSC 141): 'Vocal performing ensemble course that provides opportunities for fully staged operas and musicals, and smaller acting through singing performances. Additionally every other spring this course serves as the international intercultural exchange touring choir. Audition or preauthorization from a vocal or choral faculty is required for enrollment.' All productions are open to the public. Myrtle Woldson Performing Arts Center hosts national touring productions alongside student work.
