About this program
Gonzaga's BA in Music is offered in five concentrations: General Studies, Performance, Composition, Sacred Music, and Jazz. 'Gonzaga is the only Jesuit university on the West Coast that offers both a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Music Education.' All music majors required to: participate in major ensemble (orchestra, wind ensemble, or choir) + applied lessons each semester after declaration; pass functional keyboard proficiency. Performance concentration students: apply lessons for 2 credits each semester starting sophomore year; audition for Advanced Applied Lessons (MUSC 331). FACULTY: Dr. Meg Stohlmann (Director of Choirs & Vocal Studies) — annual Candlelight holiday concert. Dr. Robert Spittal (American Prize winner for Concerto for Wind Ensemble).
