About this program

Fort Lewis College is a public liberal arts college in Durango, Colorado, situated on a spectacular 1,000-foot mesa overlooking the city. The Performing Arts Department is NASM-accredited and offers four music degree options. FOUR MUSIC DEGREES: Music (BA) — general music degree; flexible liberal arts pathway. Music Business (BA) — music industry, management, publishing, marketing. Music Education (BA) — prepares for K-12 Colorado teaching certification. Music Performance (BA) — advanced performance study on primary instrument/voice. ALL STUDENTS: Private lessons and recitals from faculty; performing in concerts from freshman year. Collaborations with local music organizations: Music in the Mountains; Music Teachers National Association. SCHOLARSHIPS: Music and theatre scholarships available — contact department. NATIVE AMERICAN TUITION WAIVER: Fort Lewis College offers a Native American Tuition Waiver — eligible Native American students may attend tuition-free.
