Flinders University's Drama Centre at Bedford Park, South Australia offers three distinct performance degrees, all taught in English. Industry partners include State Theatre Company South Australia, Heesom Casting, and Channel 44. 'Studying at Flinders Drama Centre will help you develop these skills with its professional, innovative curriculum.' KEY FACULTY: Tiffany — actor, director, and teaching artist; performed with State Theatre Company South Australia, Queensland Theatre, and eight seasons with Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival; screen credits include Battlestar Galactica, Stargate SG-1, Wanted, and A Sunburnt Christmas; teaches dialect, voice coaching, and acting; previously worked with the University of Adelaide, Adelaide College of the Arts, and the University of British Columbia. Mitchell — one of Australia's most prolific and awarded acting talents; Helpmann Awards for Best Actor in a Musical for The Venetian Twins, Avenue Q, and The Mikado; Green Room Awards for Hair and Piaf. Christopher Hay — Drama Centre Manager; stage director and dramaturg; has worked nationally and internationally in new writing, Shakespeare, and musical theatre. BACHELOR OF PERFORMANCE (ACTING): Rigorous programme combining practical professional actor training with intellectually stimulating study in dramatic history, theory, and criticism. Specialised classes in voice, movement, and acting for live and digital spaces; acting theory; ensemble productions; direct learning from industry professionals. BACHELOR OF PERFORMANCE (DIRECTING): Professional director training; work with new writing, Shakespeare, musical theatre; close collaboration with actors and designers. Portfolio of directing work is part of the application. Graduate alumni: Associate Artist with State Theatre Company of South Australia. BACHELOR OF PERFORMANCE (THEATRE MAKING): Creates original stories for stage and screen through hands-on experience across the entire production pipeline — performance experience, writing, design development, and production management. Interdisciplinary; prepares for work with professional companies such as State Theatre Company South Australia, Sydney Theatre Company, Bell Shakespeare, Malthouse Theatre, and Belvoir. VIDEO AUDITION OPTION: Applicants based outside of metropolitan Adelaide may elect to submit a video audition in lieu of attending in person. For the Acting degree, video auditions submitted early may be offered the opportunity to participate in an online audition. Later video submissions attend in-person in December. ALL DEGREES: Apply via SATAC (satac.edu.au) then submit additional audition application materials (supporting statement + CV + headshot).
