Five Towns College's BFA in Theatre Arts — Musical Theatre Concentration provides comprehensive triple-threat training in acting, singing, and dancing. The Musical Theatre concentration blends the full acting training of the Acting Concentration (Stanislavsky system; physical theatre; voice and speech; Shakespeare; camera acting) with intensive vocal training and musical theatre performance technique. KEY FEATURES (same as Acting concentration PLUS): Private one-on-one vocal coaching: 1 hour every week — embedded in program curriculum. Two Concert Cabaret NYC performances per year — professional New York City performance experience. Musical Theatre Workshop and Advanced Musical Theater Workshop courses. History of the Musical: dedicated course on musical theatre history and literature. Basic Vocal Technique or Private Voice Lessons sequence. Theater Dance — dance technique specifically for musical theatre. NYC Senior Showcase with agents and casting directors — average 50% immediate agent signing rate. FIVE TOWNS SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA: The Symphony Orchestra and Wind Ensembles are composed of public and private music teachers, professional players, and students who audition. Orchestra is available for pit orchestra support of musical productions. From Freshman Year: Students audition for every show immediately upon arrival. Musical theatre students perform in mainstage musicals from their first semester.
